Since 1978 our mission has been to design, construct and maintain beautiful, yet purposeful, landscapes in the Santa Cruz and Monterey County communities. We believe becoming your trusted partner is key to ensuring landscaping excellence.

Our dedicated team of professionals offers a full range of services to keep your property at its best. These services include major installation projects for landscaping, hardscapes, outdoor lighting, irrigation systems, firescaping, erosion control, and drainage systems as well as ongoing landscaping maintenance, lawn care services, and tree care services. Meet The Owner Phil Dundas

As captain of The Landscape Company, Phil Dundas strives to create visually appealing and livable outdoor sanctuaries that optimize the beauty of your natural landscape. An ISA Certified Arborist, Phil combines his deep knowledge of tree health with a passion for design. He enjoys collaborating with homeowners to effectively turn landscape visions into realities. With a reliable team backed by decades of experience, no job is too big, and no dream is out of reach.

Laura Keil

Designer / Horticulturist

With 20+ years of experience, Laura infuses her love of nature, passion for plants and knowledge of the local flora and fauna into her designs. She has extensive experience with habitat restoration and comprehension of local soils and native plants. And she has a long record of working in edible gardens, including organic farms and orchards.

John O'Hara

Maintenance Manager

With over 25 years of experience in landscape maintenance, John plays a pivotal role in both commercial and residential settings, showcasing his expertise in maintaining visually stunning outdoor spaces. John has successfully managed a wide array of landscaping projects, demonstrating a deep understanding of plant care, irrigation systems & horticulture practices.

Phil is proud to serve as the current Board President of the California Landscape Contractors Association. The CLCA supports professionals from across the industry providing valuable resources and promoting professionalism, integrity and excellence in craftsmanship.

The UC Santa Cruz Arboretum & Botanic Garden’s diverse collection contains representatives of more than 300 plant families, including many rare and threatened plants. We continue to support their mission of connecting people with plants.

Phil is also an ISA Certified Arborist, for our sister company, The Tree Service Company. This allows us to provide a holistic approach to your property, managing everything from the soil health at your feet to the trees overhead.
